Face Up In Mental Health Settings
Recently at face up theatre we have been doing more work in mental health settings. Mental Health and well-being are at the centre of the work we do, so it only makes sense that we develop a portfolio within these settings. We have been working with both staff and service users in both medium and high secure settings including Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire and The John Howard Centre in East London.
Work with service users
We have found that our interactive style of training has been a highly effective tool in terms of engaging patients in an exploration of issues they are facing and empowering them to take ownership of their own future development.
Work with staff
We have recently run a band 6 development day at The John Howard Centre, where we used active learning techniques to explore issues around the motivation, supervision and engagement of staff members. This proved to be a success and we have been invited back to repeat the process later in the year.
